Information about the position
We’re looking for an in-house Public Affairs Manager based in Lithuania with relevant work experience in Lithuanian policy and knowledge of the e-commerce or tech industry. As Public Affairs Manager, you will work with the Director of Global Public Affairs and key cross-functional stakeholders to support our policy efforts in several policy areas in Lithuania and represent Vinted to national policy-makers and stakeholders.
Your role will also involve a key operational responsibility for the Public Affairs team, as you will coordinate Vinted's policy issues in our key markets and advise on our global institutional position.
We expect you to leverage your past experiences working in policy (e.g. institutions, government, in-house, and/or consultancy firms) and to work across functions to execute projects and strategies and measure their success.
In this position, you’ll
- Help shape, manage and execute a public policy strategy to support business priorities and Vinted’s corporate profile
- Represent Vinted’s interests in Lithuania by engaging with relevant political and regulatory audiences
- Monitor and assess national regulatory developments and stakeholder activity on key public affairs / reputational issues relevant to Vinted
- Lead our internal global policy issues mapping process
- Deep-dive into policy research and product developments to define recommendations
- Drive and implement Vinted’s engagement plan on several files and areas
- Proactively coordinate and communicate internally to align messaging and provide internal stakeholders with a thorough understanding of developments
- Inform and collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and develop policy positions
- Draft policy positions, answer public consultations and recommend external actions
- Participate on behalf of Vinted in events, conferences and panels
- Collaborate closely with our business, legal, communications and sustainability teams
- On-the-ground support in Lithuania for the Corporate Affairs Team (including Communications and Sustainability)
About you
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in policy, government, in-house, and/or consultancy firms
- Solid experience in leading engagements in policy processes
- Fluent in Lithuanian and English, both spoken and written, and any other language is a plus
- Strong understanding of the Lithuanian Institutions and the policy debates related to taxation, tech, and e-commerce
- Experience in-house executing cross-functional projects
- Ability to manage multiple cross-function projects on tight deadlines
- A legal background or experience at the European Union level is a plus
- Capacity to translate complex policy issues into suitable explanations for either technical or non-technical audiences and to communicate impactfully in person and in writing
- Autonomous, rigorous, curious and motivated
- Team player with can-do attitude, willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly and in a rapidly changing environment
